چکیده

Heavy metal pollution is hazardous for the environment and human health. However, there are few studies of heavy caused by historic metallurgical activity. The Laoniupo site in Bahe River valley, Guanzhong Basin, China, was an important settlement Shang Culture (1600`-1046 BCE). We studied two stratigraphic profiles at site, which were used measurements magnetic susceptibility, concentrations, AMS 14C ages to provide evidence copper smelting activity during Dynasty. Nemerow Pollution Index Geoaccumulation calculated assess metals record (Cu, Zn, Ni, Pb, Cr, As) topsoil on loess tableland. According Single Index, slightly polluted As unpolluted Cu, Pb Cr; according Composite mildly polluted; moderately As, Cr. main cause presence slag cultural layers that disturbed modern farming

The Synergic Characteristics of Surface Water Pollution and Sediment Pollution with Heavy Metals in the Haihe River Basin, Northern China

Aquatic environmental deterioration is becoming a serious problem due to rapid urbanization and economic development, particularly in developing countries. As two important components of the aquatic environment, water quality and sediment pollution are widely considered to be concerns; however, they are considered separately in most cases. The relationship between water quality and sediment pol...

Assessment of the impact of heavy metal pollution from a ferro-nickel smelting plant using biomarkers.

A set of biomarkers was used to assess the impact of heavy metal pollution by a ferro-nickel smelting plant in Larymna bay (North Evoikos Gulf, Greece). These included a biomarker reflecting health status of an organism (scope for growth, SFG), a cellular biomarker of heavy metal exposure (composition of metal-containing granules), and two biochemical biomarkers reflecting oxidative stress (glu...
